What Chemicals do you carry?

We are an authorized BioGuard dealer, and carry top of the line BioGuard pool chemicals.

Which type of filter system do you recommend?

We recommend using a sand filter.  Sand filters are low maintenance, easy to use and cartridge free!  Cartridge filters can be costly and high maintenance.

What is a salt pool?

When referring to a “salt pool” we are referring to a pool that uses salt as its sanitizer.  Technically a salt pool is still a chlorine pool, but uses a more “natural chlorine.”

Salt pools require a salt generator attached in the return line.  Once the water goes through the generator, it produces a natural chlorine that is less harsh to the swimmer.  It allows swimmers to open their eyes under water, it is less irritating to the skin and gentle on swimming suits.  Salt is most popular for inground swimming pools.

Are all brands of chlorine the same?

No!  There are many brands of chlorine available, and they are definitely not the same!  Which is why we stick with BioGuard products.  Other brands of chlorine carry many fillers and unneeded ingredients, such as calcium.  When choosing chlorine, it is very important to pay attention to the ingredients and the percentages.  And remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to chlorine.

How often should I vacuum my pool?

We recommend at least once a week, depending on the surrounding environmental factors. An easy solution for vacuuming, using one of our Kreepy Krauly automatic vacuums: the ultimate in cleaning performance and convenience.

I have so many leaves and debris every year when opening my pool, is there anything I can do to make clean up easier?

Yes! We carry a very popular cleaner called “Leaf Eater,” simple to used, independent from your filter – hooks directly to your garden hose.

Do you charge for water analysis?

Our advanced water analysis service is always FREE with in store purchase.

How often should I test my pool water?

We recommend testing your water at least once a week for a pool with clear water and no visible water problems.  If your pool is cloudy or tinted green, you’ll need to test your water more often until your water clears up.

Can I drain my fiberglass pool?

Yes, but we do not recommend doing it yourself.  Fiberglass pools can pop out of the ground or crack very easily.  To be on the safe side, we suggest hiring a professional.
